Hello[edit]

Please explain wtf you're doing. 02:11, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

I was categorizing the images. Also I needed to know information about uploading video files, if you do not like the video file I uploaded (it doubles as a gift to User:Milwin), go ahead and delete it; I will not do it again. --JavaScript-toString(50) (talk) 02:12, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
If you're not uploading images/videos related to articles use imgur or some shit, regarding categorizing go nuts. 02:19, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
OK, and the video I uploaded is tangentially related to articles; when I upload videos here later, I need to know the specification so they do not turn out broken when they are hosted here. --JavaScript-toString(50) (talk) 02:24, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
As far as I'm aware the only limit is a file size of 100MB. MP4s are fine. 02:28, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
For the brief time before that file was deleted, I think it said that it was corrupt when trying to play it here: https://images.encyclopediadramatica.rs/8/86/Vaski_%27Jelly%27-_ODDBOY_REMIX.mp4
But I don't know if it said "corrupt" because it was still processing the file or because it finished processing the file and the resulting file did not work when viewed online. I read somewhere that even though YUV444 is better, YUV420 is suggested for viewing video files from websites. Maybe YUV420 is suggested to save space on website hard drives, e.g., YouTube does not allow YUV444 to save money. YUV444 color space in videos results in the highest quality images in videos, so I was seeing if high quality videos could be uploaded here. The deletion reason for the file is "ED is not your file host", I think a better reason would be "Off-topic", I was just trying to see if this site works with superior video formats. --JavaScript-toString(50) (talk) 02:49, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
Restored. May have been a bit overzealous. 02:50, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
OK. I care about the quality of the media which is at this website, and this will hopefully tell me that it supports a high quality. Also I just looked at https://encyclopediadramatica.rs/index.php?title=File:Vaski_%27Jelly%27-_ODDBOY_REMIX.mp4&action=history and noticed "(777 bytes) (+777)‎", that's a Godly amount of bytes. --JavaScript-toString(50) (talk) 02:59, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
The SHA-1 hash generated from the file on my computer (out.mp4) that I uploaded to File:Vaski_'Jelly'-_ODDBOY_REMIX.mp4 matches with the SHA-1 hash generated from the file resulting from downloading https://images.encyclopediadramatica.rs/8/86/Vaski_%27Jelly%27-_ODDBOY_REMIX.mp4 -- this means that the file into ED and the file out of ED are 100% identical, so that is good.
In regards to opening https://images.encyclopediadramatica.rs/8/86/Vaski_%27Jelly%27-_ODDBOY_REMIX.mp4 in different browsers and media players as of today, Firefox: no video image, no audio; Microsoft Edge: no video image, has audio; Google Chrome: has video image, has audio; VLC media player (and probably other media players): has video image, has audio; ES Media Player, Prime Photos, and ES Chromecast Player (3 media players on a tablet): no video image, audio for less than a second at the start then the program closes;. I inspected screenshots of the YUV420 video* and the YUV444 video with "ffmpeg -ss 00:01:12 -i out2.mp4 -vframes 1 420.png", "ffmpeg -ss 00:01:12 -i out.mp4 -vframes 1 444.png", the original image, and GIMP. (*Generated with "ffmpeg -loop 1 -i Bread_with_jam.jpg -i "Vaski 'Jelly'- ODDBOY REMIX.mp3" -c:v libx264 -tune stillimage -c:a copy -pix_fmt yuv420p -shortest out2.mp4"; out2.mp4 has audio and video image when seen in Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, VLC, and other media players). I confirmed my prior research and saw that YUV420 is in fact shit: it distorts the original image by exactly duplicating or nearly duplicating pixels over nearby pixels (e.g., in the original image the pixel colors is darkviolet#9400D3@1,1, darkorchid#9932CC@1,2, etc., then the YUV420 color space distorts it to darkviolet#9400D3@1,1, darkviolet#9400D3@1,2, etc.). YUV420 images from videos look blocky overall compared to YUV444 images from videos, which is more faithful to the original image. Also before uploading that file I searched in "Everything" (https://encyclopediadramatica.rs/index.php?title=Special:Search&profile=all&search=&fulltext=1) for "YUV", "Y'UV", "YUV444", "Y'UV444", "YUV444p", "YUV420", "Y'UV420", "YUV420p", and found nothing. Now some of those searches link here, so if anyone in the future wants to know how this system deals with video files then that video files on this website and this talk page will help. Alternatively, they can just refer to this talk page only and that test file can be deleted; this alternative is not recommended in my opinion, for future updates to one or more software systems may necessitate another test file being uploaded to find the answer in a direct way. In conclusion, ED supports high quality videos to the aforewritten extent. Heil lulz. --JavaScript-toString(50) (talk) 04:21, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
