    I don't think KSA thought it could stop Arab Spring when it decided to intervene (Feb-Mar 2012). Imv motivations were: 1. curb Islamist (esp. MB) influence within Syrian insurgency 2. Prevent accusation of letting down Syrian Sunnis while they were massacred by Asad's militias
