    The discovery of an ancient Assyrian relief in Northern Iraq. It appears to consist of the King, offering to the Gods (similar to the Khinnis relief). It was discovered as workers were working on extending a water pipe. The world continues to find more pieces of Assyria.

    4 - I must add that what is missing from those maps are also Assyrian/Syriac names which have been changed to Turkish names located in and around Tur Abdin, Siirt and Hakkari regions.

    2 - Polar opposite is the case in the Middle East as different groups constantly attempt to assert their dominance by renaming previously indigenous names of towns/cities.
