It seems many of my non-American friends are missing some of the subtleties of American popular cultural language. The parentheses (shocked!) gives the connotation of sarcasm. He clearly is not surprised...in other words, this is exactly what he would've expected to happen

Haha awesome! I didn't even know it was from Casablanca. Very good context! Thanks

Thanks to Google:) I was figuring shocked ( shocked! ) should have another meaning than a single shocked.

US needs to see Turkey for what really is, not how they want to see. Erdogan is the honest face of Turkey, without pretending to west and acting otherwise to the people, like other parties managed to act doe so long.
-
The half of the Turkey doesnt vote for him we want equal law and order but he act like a Sultan even he doesnt have royal blood ..Thats what i worry

Turkey had already lost the two of the three fundamental elements of democracy (freedom of expression and judicial independence) and today it lost the third one (electoral). Erdogan's despotic rule has never been more clearly highlighted.

You might be right to be shocked about this, but better don’t because the much you get to know Turkey the more shocked you will be. Turkey has never ever respected democracy & human rights, at least towards the Kurds.

he knows them Turk regime and supporters called him PKK and even wanted him arrested
