So I'm sure by now a lot of you have seen the new content policy for Discord banning nsfw cub art. With my Patreon being run through Discord, their new policy changes have spurred me on to finally make a decision I've been hesitant to make for some time due to uncertainties of how it will affect my audience and short-term business, but for the sake of my long term artistic career I must make an overdue change. As of today I will no longer be drawing or accepting commissions involving sexual or suggestive art of cubs. I will still finish all currently standing nsfw cub commissions in my queue, but I am no longer accepting any more.
This has been a long time coming but I've put it off time and time again out of necessity to ensure bills are paid on time, but the situation at discord made me realize that my desire to expand my artistic business within and outside furry art, will only be held back by continuing to produce cub art. It is too controversial for me to hold onto and continue to grow in the direction I want to take my art in. I've never had any negative feelings about cub art as I firmly maintain the separation between fantasy and reality, but when it comes to business the subject matter is too volatile.
My heart goes out to those artists who draw almost exclusively cub art. I'm glad that to me, cub art was not a passion, but more of a business matter back when I first started furry art and desperately needed to find a niche to grab hold of. I think times will be difficult for those who wish to continue with cub art in the near future and I wish them luck. Times are changing and Discord's new policy is just one more example of what to expect.
I will not be purging my gallery, closing my account, or trying to restart under a new furry artist name. I believe people should own up to what they've said and done in the past, and it should be there to remind us why we made our decisions. So all the cub art in my gallery will remain where it is, but I will no longer be producing any more suggestive or adult art of cub characters, and my existing cub OCs will be aged up. I'm sure this will cost me watchers, and maybe even a lot of commission work, but this is the path I am choosing to take and the one I think will be healthiest for the long term and grant me the ability to try some new things.
Thank you for reading and I'm sorry if this was more unfortunate news.
