As you may know, I had a visitor in early March.

Following my criticism of him in various newspapers, the Far Right agitator 'Tommy Robinson’ used a few of my tweets as a pretext to intimidate me at my home twice in the space of one evening, releasing my address to a livestreamed audience of thousands.

Over the next few weeks, he continued to make videos about me, including a number of absurd allegations. This prompted strangers to turn up my home, to send a number of threats via mail and generally attempt to disrupt my life, contacting people and organisations I work with.

Now, at the end of April, I've largely gained control of the situation. However, the experience has had a significant effect on me, financially, professionally and most importantly, health-wise I've been signed of work with stress, and I may not be able to return, due to individuals’ attempts contacting my employer.

As a consequence, I've been on SSP, or Statutory Sick Pay, considerably less than I'm paid normally.

While I do a fair bit of paid writing, it's still left me with a bit of a shortfall with rent due. Payment dates are also often irregular and hard to coordinate. After a prolonged illness, my wife is also looking for work, but it will be a while before that's a regular concern.
