ABSTRAK
This research analysis the benefit of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) metode that has been used in paper industry. In general, paper industry needs maintenance methode to ensure the tools and equipment in available condition, safety, and preventing from function failure. The method that has been applicated in that paper industry is RCM method which is combined static calculation, maitenance performance index, routine maintenance shedule, job description, history card equipment/component, minimum stock of spare part, repair, vibration analyser, schedule shut down.
The result shows RCM decreases unshedule shut down 1.15% then the year before and increases machine reliability 4,25% then the year before.

- 1. INTRODUCTION
Today, paper industry have to increase the effectiveness and energy efficiency so it could competed in global market. One is increasing the machine realiability to effort the production process.
The maintenance method that used in paper industry has been developed, former only orientated in machine reliability, but now also safetiness.
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concept is to selected the best maintenance method that used for each component, so it assumed that each component needs spesial method based on the operasional [1]. This research analysis the performance of RCM that has been aplicated in paper indusrty for a year.
The advantages of RCM method is quarantee the equipment could operate well based on design and function[2]. RCM is maintenance program that focus on preventif maintenance.
The industry that has been applicated the RCM system could reduce maintenance cost 20% until 25%. The RCM system has two value indicator; first is schedule shutdown and second is unshedule shutdown. The critical divison for shecdule shutdown and unshedule shutdwon are mechanic, instrument, electric, and utility.
