    Journalist from pro-govt paper on the man who attacked ’s opposition leader : “his biggest misfortune was that he was caught on camera”. So the big problem wasn’t that he punched someone, but that he was filmed doing it.

    It’s the morning after ’s opposition leader was attacked by a mob. The current President, never shy of the spotlight, has not said a word. No condemnation, no message of support, no call for unity. It has taken the ex-President to speak out and fill that void.

    Pro-government paper today accuses of supporting terrorism, asking if its new mayor of Istanbul is happy after 4 soldiers were killed by PKK. Daily incitement & vitriol spewed out in government mouthpieces and then vigilante attacks. Not hard to see the link.

    Just days after alleging "organised crime" stole the vote, AKP officials dragging suitcases of alleged evidence of fraud into the YSK and claiming that the Istanbul election was the "biggest stain in Turkish electoral history"...Pres suggests it's time to move on.

    AKP chair & President Erdoğan called for "unity of all 82 million citizens to act as Turkey Alliance for the survival of our state, regardless of political differences. It is time to leave behind the discussions of municipal elections."

    ’s state news agency is put under control of the Presidency’s Communications Directorate. A reminder that it’s the only media outlet allowed to publish vote count in elections. So now presidential palace will in effect be in charge of giving election results
