Presumably this claims that Obama armed Jabhat al Nusra. That's utter bullshit. JaN got a very few US weapons taken from groups the US armed AGAINST JaN (& ISIS). & JaN/HTS isn't AQ.

maybe the voters should resent themselves. it's government policies, not the billionaires, that establish inequality.

Oh sure. Ben Gurion, the 'dreamer', wasn't confrontational at all: "The Jewish Agency Executive was ...apprised by Ben-Gurion in 1938 that, ‘after we become a strong force, as a result of the creation of a state, we shall abolish partition and expand to the whole of Palestine".

Gavin Williamson slams Shamima Begum's bid for legal aid - trust me, you don’t want to live in a country in which politicians get to pick which individuals get the right to a fair trial

it's not just that "the fate of the 2011 uprisings has had a chastening and chilling effect". that fate is strong evidence you can't overthrow these régimes without army backing (& subsequent/continued control)

Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham reputedly paid recompense to members of Ansar al-Tawheed and Hurras al-Din who participated in recent raids in north Hama and south Aleppo respectively at a rate of $100 for each enemy killed: thus $3000 in total to Ansar al-Tawheed; $400 to Hurras al-Din

oh yeah, huge 'contradiction' : "Church attendance in France is among the lowest in the world, with surveys showing that only about 5% of the total population, i.e. less than 10% of those who are nominally Catholics, now attend weekly mass"

This is depressing. is being advised by Rob Malley, the guy who initiated behind-the-scenes contacts with Assad, and used his functionary Nir Rosen to pseudonymously promote the Assad-approved policy of local surrenders

democracy appears strong when it emerges in states which are strong already. The UK state was extremely strong ever since 1688 - long before democracy emerged. The strength of states is not obviously related to the strength of democracy itself.

not very telling. British government was much more solid than European counterparts for centuries before it became democratic, & never experienced anything like the stresses of interwar Germany.
