    Turkey immediately closed the border crossing when removed from Tal Abyad. Then Turkey protested.

    McGurk says in 2014 Obama asked Erdogan twice to close his borders to ISIS but Turkey didn't. They also refused to help in Kobane. US diplomats officially and repeatedly asked them to close Akçakale border crossing where ISIS got supplies, Turkey refused.

    The YPG YPJ pose absolutely no threat to Turkey whatsoever - on the contrary, it's Turkey that poses a threat (of invasion) to North Syria. Erdogan's endless ranting about the terrible danger YPG YPJ pose to Turkey is nothing but a pretext for aggression.

    McGurk says despite the facts that YPG didnt pose threat to Turkey, didn't send weapons to PKK & had no operational links to PKK, the US slowed military aid due to Turkish pressure. Many SDF operations were carried with light weapons & without protection. …
