These are former members of the Labour Party who left because they more closely represent the centrism of Howard Schultz. Progressives are uniting around Jeremy Corbyn against Theresa May’s racism and austerity while Nancy Pelosi is stowing divisions and subtweeting @IlhanMN.https://twitter.com/speakerpelosi/status/1117395599685558273 …

So you are saying British Jews (a) can't distinguish between a politician they disagree with & an anti-Semite, or (b) really just support the Tories and are lying about anti-Semitism in Labour under Corbyn to smear him politically? Thanks for letting us all know where you stand.
-
No that's not what I'm saying.
-
I hope not. I also hope you can see why that is a very straightforward reading of what you wrote. I am not trying to misrepresent your words, but I know that Twitter is short and can be hard to parse. This is a real problem and your tweets seem to be suggesting it is not.

Twitter actively resists constructive engagement on difficult subjects like this, but perhaps this piece by
@rachshabi may be helpful: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/rachelshabi/democrats-avoid-uk-antisemitism-crisis … We do not have to fall into the same traps here as happened there. -
Yasir is a centrist neo liberal that supports Israel’s apartheid government and racists like Bibi Netanyahu. People like Yair are so disingenuous in their arguments.
-
The fact that you can't even get my name right (though Yasir is a lovely name!) says everything people need to know about your claims about my views, which clearly you have never read. Go troll somewhere else.

One of those British Jews who preferred Cameron was not Luciana Berger, who left Labor after years of anti-Semitic and misogynistic abuse leveled at her. The inability of those on the Left understand that Jews are politically diverse is astounding.
-
Exactly this. None of my Jewish left friends supported Cameron, none of them feel able to support Labour currently. Miliband wasn’t a popular leader, that’s why he lost. My friends, some of which have been been activists for decades, have either left or at the brink of leaving
-
Another reason Miliband lost was because people were worried about the possibility of ties to the Scottish National Party (SNP). As Unicorn said, I also know loads of people who didn't support Cameron and/or were members of the Lab party until very recently.
-
The opinions I get from other British Jews, were pretty much in line with the countries thinking (I dunno maybe because we are...British): Some people though Ed was a decent guy, but not up to the job of leader. Some liked him. And they voted with him at accordingly
-
If only we knew then what we know now. "Chaos with Ed Miliband" would have been so much more preferable to the brexit/antisemitism mess we have.
-
I know, I agree. I feel bad now for doubting Miliband; he is a really decent politician. He perhaps didn’t have the best leadership skills or way to get through to the public but I doubt he would have led us to this mess. I love his Podcasts too!
-
It's so unfortunate... I didn't know he was doing podcasts - I'll have to have a listen.

Do you think American Jews are obliged to vote for Bernie while he supports antisemite Corbyn and works with Linda Sarsour? Ed lacked the backbone to stand by firmly by his ideas regardless of party pressure. I do command him for supporting the IHRA definition unlike Corbyn.

You really have no idea what is going on RIGHT NOW in UK Labour to Jewish people and you are irresponsibly spinning a narrative regardless. Stop it. It is willful ignorance to try to fit an Ameri-centric narrative and helps no one.

IT HARMS INSTEAD.

More than half of British Jews say that they will consider emigrating if Corbyn becomes Prime Minister. You don’t think about leaving your home and moving to another country because you disagree with a party’s position on Israel.
-
Exactly this.

Incidentally, the main stream media did next to nothing when Miliband was subjected to a torrent of anti-semitic abuse.
