Obviously this wasn’t right, but when you had such a great story why (a) did you refuse to sell it or (b) assuming a suitable credit would be given, refuse to allow its use? Maybe the second one is obvious - you’re entitled to be paid for your work - but why not sell it?
Its tough being a #freelancer . Today the Irish state broadcaster #RTE took footage of my interview with #LisaSmith despite being refused permission (they wanted to buy it). It's sad that this is what journalists in war zones have to contend with.

Not on when photographers work is taken uncredited I've seen recommendations that they invoice for the picture. Can you do this?

I've done that. If they don't pay up you can take them to small claims court for amounts up to €3k.

Like it's obviously wrong to ignore the no but you should definitely pursue it Norma. (And fair play on the reporting, you are very brave to visit a warzone)
