I have a dear Turkish friend who said I was racist for saying someone looked Kurdish...I'll always find that confusing ...like looking Kurdish is such a terrible thing to say about someone...it's strange how the processing works

I’m not surprised that your friend said so. Plenty of people in Turkey thinks looking like a Kurd is something negative. I been told myself that I don’t look like a Kurd and asking what the man meant he replied that Kurds are dirty.

Funny considering Kurds (my oppinion obviously) are beautiful people. Has everything to do with trying to other you. One of the lowest thing a human can do to another.

The worst is when you tell someone you're Kurdish and they tell you that 'you don't look like a Kurd' as a compliment.

Yea, exactly..

Turkish border police used to consistently throw away my kurdish books, toys and snacks as a kid, right in front of our faces. Imagine literally stealing candy from a child.

Don't be bothered by BBC news, its British agency, and the Britain is the enemy of kurdistan, they are the reason we the Kurds suffer today. If it was up to Britain all Kurds would be buried alive.

Unfortunately mostly Turkish people are racist. They can speak many racist things after they speak how lslam and muslims are peacifull and love humanity.

Very rare to see people who criticize turkey but are still dumb enough to love it.

Oh please... no one’s going to insult you to your face for being Kurdish. Especially in Istanbul.
