Like the Irish, Italians weren’t even considered white when they first arrived. They were paid less than blacks for manual labour. Why are you so ignorant?
-
Girl, you are a mess. Work on yourself.

Massacres the natives carried against Christians? Well...Christians were invaders during colonization. A villains who tried to claim land for themselves.Of couse natives fought back using all means necessary. They did same as anyone would do if robbers tried to invade their house
-
They carried out massacres against innocent civilians, not just invaders. Do you support murdering innocent people?
-
Please name the specific Native person who massacred innocent people and who has either a holiday celebrating him, a city named after him, or statues honoring him. I’ll wait.

I’m wondering who the innocent settlers or conquistadors were?

My Italian ancestors likely didn't have an easy life--not knowing English, my 2nd great grandpa dying very young, but they got by. My Métis and Yurok family had land and culture stolen. There was genocide. Residential School. It does not compare.
-
This is gaining some attention so I feel it's important to add this as I've done in the past: I'm recognized as Métis by cousins but I am still working on figuring out my kinship with the Yurok nation. Presently, the ancestry is there but I do not self ID as Yurok.
-
Genocide and violence wrecked those kinship ties and I've been in contact with people who... know we are related SOMEHOW but we don't know HOW yet.

People in Los Angeles are all brainwashed and they don't know any better. I am sorry they are like this. Christopher Columbus was a discoverer and without him, the new world would never have been discovered, these people don't care about history, its sad.
-
Thank you for discovering us, Brian Where would we be without you and your mediocre marathon running
-
Probably still eating each other.
-
Sounds like you got learned ril good by the colonizer schools

During the Irish famine, the Choctaw people gathered as much money as they could and donated it to the Irish people, we have a monument in their honor. Just wanted make you aware if you didn’t already know.
-
What does that have to do with this
-
Nothing. Just seen Choctaw in your handle and just wanted to share it.

I’m Italian American and had never heard of us claiming Columbus until I was an adult. It’s an embarrassment. We can think of better role models than a genocidal rapist

In South Dakota, where countless atrocities were done to Native Americans, Columbus day has been replaced with Native American Day. If some bodunk state of country folk can get over this dated idea that Columbus discovered America then you can too.
-
“Bodunk state of country folk” is my new phrase this week, thank you friend
