The CHP now has local control over ca 60% of the Turkish economy. It may prove hard for the gov to starve opposition municipalities significantly without affecting the broader economy and thus shooting itself in the foot

Under this economy and given all restrictions, I’m not hopeful of the quality of services one could expect from the new mayors ln municipalities...but the main thing is the climate of fear hopefully dissolving, perhaps new political actors emerging as a result, lessons learned...

Turk has big Inflation Problem that is not sustainable. And there is zero evidence that Erdogan & Son in Law understand the problem & how to solve it. 19% inflation with a 24% policy rate is very high for a stable government and economy. So foreign investors should be wary.
