Here’s the problem for all those with short term memories: back in the time when these jokes were being made, the internet encouraged edgy and offensive humor: the edgier the better. The jokes weren’t ok but the environment at the time encouraged them

Now that same machine uses the content it asked for years before and uses it to judge the creators who have grown and changed. I’d bet most ppl pointing the finger have said many off color jokes, but don’t have the audience to keep that joke alive and use it as ammunition.
-
Lastly, a joke DOES NOT EQUAL an action. A joke can be off color A joke can be offensive A joke can be a mistake It is not evidence to action. In my past I have joked about murder; I am not, however a murderer. Common sense people, c’mon.

ok but a whole character based off blackface... like what?
-
he literally apologized for that 5 years ago, in 2014
-
he still sells merch based off the character...
-
That’s Shanaynay!! What’s wrong with selling a picture of that. It’s his character...
-
the issue people have with it is that the character was clearly a racial stereotype of low-income black women.
-
I understand that, but his character was white. And it’s a joke. Times were sooo different on YouTube 8 years ago
