We categorically disagree with the idea that Discord is "spyware". It's true that Discord has the ability to track what games you're playing--that's what powers our rich presence features!--but you can turn that off at any time under User Settings > Privacy & Safety.

Under User Settings > Privacy & Safety, you'll see two settings pertaining to Discord's ability to track what you're doing on your computer, "Use data to customize my Discord experience" and "Use data to improve Discord".
-
"Use data to customize my Discord experience" allows us to do things like track what games you're playing, track what Spotify songs you're playing, and customize the Activity Tab based on the games you play. Disabling this prevents us from tracking that activity!
-
"Use data to improve Discord" allows us to track user experiences--effectively, what you do on Discord and what features you use the most. Having this on also can lead to being grouped into certain feature experiments. Turning this off disables analytical tracking.
-
If you have deeper questions about data privacy--what we do with data and why, how we transmit messages and how we store them--you're very welcome to reach out to our team directly at privacy@discordapp.com, too!

I'm glad that the terms of Service has at least been improved, and The cub incident has been solved. BUT There's still A problem that the software itself is spyware. But I don't hate discord, it's a amazing Way to talk to people in there. But my privacy is still threatened by it.
-
That's news to me, we are definitely not spyware. That's a false positive.
-
Again I don't hate discord, and I never wanted to be against discord. But there is a big problem is going on right now, and i'm just very concerned about my privacy and everybody's privacy. https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/discord.html …

Wouldn't believe everything you see. We'd see a plethora of comments and people yelling at us about it if it was true.
-
I am really sorry
-
Ah, yes. Spyware Watchdog. Try to look at his thread on Google, Yahoo and GoGoDuck. The person who writes them is seriously paranoid, so don't take it too seriously.
-
"You can't look at its sourcecode so you can't prove me wrong" Never heard of Russels Teapot huh
