Kinda happens if you concentrate almost all your troops in front of Manbidj, and leave the rest with skeleton garrisons... And basically too much land to control with hodgepodge militias in generally unfriendly territory.

And Turkey thought their military was capable of fighting any nation in a serious war ... It's not like it comes out of the blue, that Kurds might be not too happy about turkish presence. If civilians were capable of that much damage, don't start thinking about actual military.

That is no excuse. Securing your Camps and the safety of your soldiers is First Priority. Then comes the mission, which you cannot fullfill If you lose Hearts and Minds Like a Bunch of Amateurs. At least the USA knows how to keep the angry populace from their camps.
