I disagree with you because Okinawa should be treated fear in Japan. Independence of Okinawa from Japan makes new conflicts.
1) Uchinaanchu are indigenous & are NOT Japanese. 2) If Japanese want to support Okinawa, they should be respectful & not try to appropriate & take credit for Okinawan issues. 3) I have always supported Ryukyu independence, since long before the White House petition came out.

I'm Ohshu(North east Japan).Ohshu are NOT Japanese. I have always supported Ohshu independence for more than 20 years. Oshu has a historic background like Scotland. Ryukyu,Ohshu,Independence!

I almost agree with you, but now knowing there's something different in South-west or Yaeyama islands, I'm confused with 3). Ryukyu may sound like 'main island' to some people, I wonder.
