    People are collecting money (mostly in Europe) to buy Kurdish prisoners from FSA (for 4-7K) to then exchange them for ISIS foreign females in Kurdish custody (1 Kurd=3 females). Simply paying a smuggler does not work anymore.

    When I was with right wing groups on Ukraine frontline there were many Many such people from as far as Australia.

    If the evidence ultimately proves that Brenton Tarrant went to Ukraine to train with other right-wing violent extremists, then the attack in New Zealand was possibly the first example of an act of terrorism committed by a white supremacist foreign fighter.

    I am proud of for taking back their fighters and sentencing them to 6 years at home (instead of sending them to Iraq to be killed by court like majority of Western countries do )

    I remember when I was deciding the press to publish my first book with, a senior colleague told me “it does not matter that much, because it is only ur first book and for tenure you will have 1-2 more that u can publish with other presses.” 2-3 book (+articles)... seriously ? :(

    Ajnat al Kavkaz guys near Idlib complain about families they saved. They saved them and are housing and feeding those women and kids, but instead of thanking AaK guys those ISIS familkes are still declaring takfir on them and call them murtads :(

    ISIS guys are let free in Europe because there is not enough evidences to prosecute them, so now Iraq becomes a "European Guantanamo" :( I still could not believe Iraq agreed to that :(

    Iraq begins legal procedures for trials of about 300 ISIS delivered to Iraq from Syrian Democratic Forces. Detainees include Iraqis, other Arabs & Europeans, including women. Those convicted likely to face death penalty.

    Wow... I would qualify ;) also question about foreign fighter .. does it mean that all those Mosul and Tal Afar folks will get citizenship ? :)

    Draft law in Iraqi Parliament that would grant citizenship to foreigners who live in Iraq only 1 year sparks outrage. No nation has similar short period of required residency before granting citizenship.

    Well, in Iraqi prison everyone confesses :( question: if they were there for like a week visiting friends (while their unit was in Syria) is their only crime - illegal border crossing? (I mean by actual law... I understand that in reality they will get death sentence :( )

    Iraq begins legal procedures against 14 French ISIS fighters received from Syrian Democratic Forces. All have confused & were in Mosul during ISIS occupation.

    I am on sabbatical now (to work in policy/on the field) and I feel like I am in the epicenter of this storm. Apparantly for me it is harder then a normal academic year :( and last time I took it (for Mosul battle) I was also dreaming about coming back to my university :)

    Baghdad airport is closed because of the fog. It is really bad :( All locals are given money for inconvenience and all foreigners are moved to a “container hotel” near it ( in a safe zone).

    There were also usual tons of complains from Chain Takfiri foreign fighters who declared takfir on Baghdadi about them being hunted and killed by Amni.

    Really interesting details in 's piece about what life inside Baghouz has been like for the last few weeks. Even until recently there has been an active hisba enforcing prayer time

    I am curious how many ex-French Foreign Legion guys ISIS had. I know about two, but there should be more I guess taking into account how many ex-USSR folks are in FFL. ( I also asked FFL friends about Middle East guys in this ranks but they do not have many to start with)

    14 French citizens who fought for ISIS and were captured in Syria are going on trial in Iraq. One is a former French soldier who served in Afghanistan. They all had children in Syria. Some of their confessions are here
