At least 6,000 Kurds and 2,000 Arab fighters died fighting IS in Syria. A momentous and hard fought victory that follows the group’s territorial defeat in Iraq at the end of 2017.pic.twitter.com/jpiBTtlG2r

There are graveyards all across North Eastern Syria, honouring those who died to stop the Islamic State Group. Today is a day of celebration; and remembrance. They fought so we didn’t have to.

And though it is a great achievement that IS no longer holds territory, the Kurds and Arabs in Syria know they will still be fighting IS tomorrow and for many days to come.pic.twitter.com/DTt3uoQ8Bp

The victims of IS aren’t just the dead; they are the displaced, the bereaved and the traumatised. They deserve justice. The people responsible, including many young westerners, must be charged, prosecuted and punished.pic.twitter.com/Bh2H57NepK

These are the graves of IS fighters in Raqqa. Who were these people? Who funded them? Who led them? There’s still so much to be uncovered.pic.twitter.com/uxvBLnT1Ss

Will they have fighters left to retreat back to the Badiya Al-Sham desert once again, to regroup. Or are they really finished? No one here believes what our government tells us. Except the the sheep.
