This is a thread about why you shouldnt do business with
inkedfur how they have stolen and withhold funds from artists (in my opinion) and based on the facts I have. I have requested sales figures, and am still waiting. But I am getting ahead of myself, buckle up.
If you purchased the
kb_log artbook from
inkedfur or you were an artist that worked with them, Listen up. If you are a fan of any of the artists who worked hard on that book. Listen up. This is a thread of my opinions and experiences worked with Inked fur.
I am one voice out of 47 that worked on that book. I also did additional artwork as a promo print for the deluxe bundle of the book sales. We received 7.30 from those sale. TLDR We didnt get paid, we were promised different numbers at different times and none of it adds up. Bad math, bad business. Inkedfur, In my opinion, doesnt care about artists. They use you to make money and then cut you lose, and hope you dont look to close at what you recieved.
Let me start at the beginning. I would also like to note that while Kei is also the lead artist on this book, they also work at inkedfur.

https://imgur.com/CjxG4Z9 March 18tth we have a break down of sales and book orders. Though now there is the mention of the costs for the artists books, that we are getting for free for doing the artwork. Fair, books still need printed.
https://imgur.com/tZbc9eT May 24th: We are in the black! First profits to be paid out will be soon. 606.90 total profits as of may 2018 to be paid in royalties! 12.91! This was less than I thought it would be, but the email states we -STILL- had books for sale at that point, and the pdf sales had not yet happened.

PDF is finally up! Apparently, the delay was because the new website they were working on didnt have support for digital products yet. So, it has been hosted on the OLD website, and we have links to it to post to.

I confirmed this with several artists, I was a bit worried because I had -left- inkedfur (as no longer allowing them to sell my work) and I thought perhaps my royalties had been lost in the system somewhere. But turns out, no one else had gotten paid either.
OCT 25th
Between this when I left Inkedfur, I had trouble getting my final payment. I was due money at the time, and I took a screen shot to be sure. And sure enough, had I not had that screenshot I doubt I would have been paid, because when they removed my account it vanished too. Interestingly enough, he mentioned that I have sales from a recent furmeet that mysteriously were tracked differently. This mention is the only proof I have of said sales, as I was never paid.

Oddly Kei said that two payments of royalties were made and they had sold out of all the books. And that only 4 sales of the PDF were done. Checking the website, the Book is for sale.. which is now sold out, but the pdf is not.

This may seem like nickles and dimes to you, but this is a business. They are tracking sales of artists and paying them royalties. Many artists depend on this income to live, and any sale is helpful. Inkedfurs poor business practices are keeping money from the artists you are trying to support. I have not been given the sales numbers, and from the sounds of it, Im not sure anyone really knows how much we are owed. But I can tell you, I havent been paid, and neither have some of your favorite artists.

Edit: More stuff has been coming to light, so I have been adding more things. All this and more is all being kept here so I only have to update one place. More artists coming forward, inkedfur's responces from the owner as well as their twitter. Numbers not matching up.
