Last I’m going to say about this, but being criticised unprovoked for refusing to talk to someone privately, saying I didn’t want to because it made me uncomfortable & then having them obsessively quote tweet me with legal threats b/c I said that is wildhttps://twitter.com/AbiWilks/status/1106240878652329985 …

*hugs you* Don't let the fuckers get to you. Straight up advice, if you wish to take it, up to you, block. Block it & all that come at you cos of it. Mute then block=even better. Life is too short to bother with creeps & thundercunts here/in person. Take care of you x
-
Solidarity. You're braver than me by not just blocking. My twitter experience is so much better since I starting blocking early and blocking often. I block preemptively too - if I see someone nasty on someone else's thread I quietly go and block.
-
I do that. I block the likes/rt/comments people when they like/rt nasty tweets. Mostly they are all new accounts with less than 5000 tweets, no followers, blah blah. Also they have football or cartoons as their avis. It's what I do when I'm having a cuppa & watching TWD, haha

I believe Mr Myerson has been suspended from Twitter, so it may be a bit quiet for a bit
-
Really? His account is still there as far as I can see
-
Sorry, that was wishful thinking, it's been locked due to a questionable tweet so I don't think he can post until it's been deleted

Someone’s been hearing my prayers

Abi... can I point a few things out? In the summer you found interesting things about Neil, Finklestein etc... and then somebody managed to change the subject to attacking you personally, discussing you instead of what you found. They turned a discussion of facts into a spat.
-
Now, again, you quoted factual info - maybe not in places accurate but certainly worth discussing - and someone else manages to change the subject to attacking you personally instead of discussing the facts. Again, turning it into a very painful spat.
-
What I found on LabourList forums is that people will often try to do it, and you have to just stick to the discussion of the facts and ignore everything else. If someone switches to discussing _you_, just leave that without reply no matter what they say.
-
On top of that, they try to hit you with an emotional rollecoaster - using conspiracy-style accusations of bad faith and personal attacks/accusations. That should be called out - if someone accuses you or tells you you're being dishonest they are not engaging seriously.
-
...and so the thing to do is to either just restate the factual statement(s) you were making all along or just leave them to it. Otherwise, you will waste hours whilst they will just keep preaching to the converted.

You shouldn't be threatened nor forced to defend yourself at all. But when people deliberately misrepresent you, you cannot remain silent. Full support to you, Abi.

People who feel they need power (for whatever reasons) are attracted to positions of authority, and inevitably least suited towards it. Beware anyone who is a “profession” first, and a human second. You’ll never reach the latter.
