Nur (Arabic for light) is the name of the mosque where the massacre took place. The light which has arrived from Mecca to New Zealand will not die away. This is not a race problem between white and brown, it is a conflict between light and darkness.

The terrorists were not only very well armed but also ideologically sophisticated.

Says the guy whose own website ran a piece headlined "7 Things You Need To Know About Orlando Terrorist Omar Mateen" 48 hours after he killed 49 people in a mass shooting: Ah the bad faith of the modern US conservative moment, the sheer bad faith...

In one of the videos, the attacker approaches the victims and shoots at them again and again. one of the victims is a very young child. Where does this hate come from? How were they radicalised? What is about their culture/religion that makes them so violent? Qs we'll never ask

I just saw the footage of one of the attacks. I recognised the hate I saw there. It is the normalised and mainstreamed hate we see, hear, smell every single day just in the form of bullets. The martyrs are in a better place it is us the humanity who aren't.

Trump would usually tweet within 15-20 minutes of a terrorist incident anywhere in Europe but he is silent tonight. He is not tweeting. He is not calling out governments or asking politicians to name 'radical Islamist terrorism'. Unsurprisingly, the terrorist is a big fan of his.

This is the manifesto released by the terrorist before the attack. It is a paraphrase of all the bullshit we hear day and night from Trump, Tucker Carlson, Tommy Robinson, Gerard Batten, Robert Spencer, Douglas Murray and the mainstreamed figures of the Islamophobia industry

The New Zealand massacre is just one other product of the islamophobia industry. This is what happens when a billion + people are vilified, dehumanised & held responsible for ISIS terrorism. Fuck them and their fake condemnations.

The call several weeks ago between AOC and Corbyn is a good start but the Left/Progessive/Liberal West has to come together. There is a great momentum that should be captured. The global far right bigotry can’t be fought the old way. New age requires new politics.

The fact that AOC, this fresher, is second most discussed politician after Trump -AOC for the right reasons- is telling. The new Leftist base needs voices like her: clear, confident and apologetic. No time for playing the middle while middle is very very titled to the right.

The Left needs to be more assertive. Multiculturalism can’t be defended by weak apologetics or those who stand for nothing. The liberal values can only be defended by people who have a greater enthusiasm for tolerance than the far right has for bigotry.

Nice guy politics has failed. A PC model in which politicians say all the right things without any actual results have alienated masses. The Left needs the same global alliance the far right has to win the battle of minds and hearts and win elections.

The so-called centrists who stand for the status quo, in the US and in the UK, don’t mind sabotaging the new leftist politics. They did it to Sanders and are doing it to Corbyn. The only winner here is the right which has titled to far right now more than ever.

Freshers like AOC and Ilhan Omar are actually fresh. Not just new in politics but represent a new politics. They are a minority who actually represent sentiments of the majority. Democracy works and voting matters!

Wild card my arm lol CNN trying to portray this nice guy as a bad boy is funny. The only possibility of any Beto connection to anything wild is if he had any blood ties to Oscar Wild. Trump will roast him & his kumbaya world like chicken. Bring forward a winner for God’s sake

Beto is the America that Americans voted against in 2016. Unless one watches CNN too much but American hasn’t changed much since last election. Only a ‘real’ anti-establishment figure like Sanders can beat Trump. ‘Nice guys’ suck, time for principled ones

Sometimes one single page or headline from the New York Times is more than a page. It captures a moment, a great one, in a people's history. Will news from our days be as meaningful for future generations? Is it scarcity which has made such archives so valuable or something else?
