    The terrorists were not only very well armed but also ideologically sophisticated.

    I won’t post photos but “markings” many are noting on the shooter’s weapons are historic battles & leaders popular w far-right extremists including, in Cyrillic, “Miloš Obilić”, 14thC Serbian knight who killed Murad I @ 1389 Battle of Kosovo, also a far-right trope.

    In one of the videos, the attacker approaches the victims and shoots at them again and again. one of the victims is a very young child. Where does this hate come from? How were they radicalised? What is about their culture/religion that makes them so violent? Qs we'll never ask

    I just saw the footage of one of the attacks. I recognised the hate I saw there. It is the normalised and mainstreamed hate we see, hear, smell every single day just in the form of bullets. The martyrs are in a better place it is us the humanity who aren't.

    Trump would usually tweet within 15-20 minutes of a terrorist incident anywhere in Europe but he is silent tonight. He is not tweeting. He is not calling out governments or asking politicians to name 'radical Islamist terrorism'. Unsurprisingly, the terrorist is a big fan of his.

    The call several weeks ago between AOC and Corbyn is a good start but the Left/Progessive/Liberal West has to come together. There is a great momentum that should be captured. The global far right bigotry can’t be fought the old way. New age requires new politics.

    The Left needs to be more assertive. Multiculturalism can’t be defended by weak apologetics or those who stand for nothing. The liberal values can only be defended by people who have a greater enthusiasm for tolerance than the far right has for bigotry.

    Beto is the America that Americans voted against in 2016. Unless one watches CNN too much but American hasn’t changed much since last election. Only a ‘real’ anti-establishment figure like Sanders can beat Trump. ‘Nice guys’ suck, time for principled ones

    Beto O’Rourke is selling the idea that he can unite the country by playing nice, especially with Americans who’ve barely met a Democrat, let alone considered voting for one
