Here in Florida were right around the corner of being hot, sticky, humid. I'm looking to pick up some more freshies. What do you folks plan on wearing during the hot seasons?
Edit: Since everyone is adding such good ideas, i want to add one of my favorites- Le Labo Bergamote 22
They have a new ABSOLU edition did you check that out yet? Has a super fancy design.
I actually haven’t, I have seen the design though and it really is neat. It’s hard to find in my area though right now, and thinking about ordering some samples here soon.
Can we rob a Prada store together though? I’m a sucker for the brand.
Oh yes same here for Prada L’Homme. In the winter u doesn’t do much but in spring and summer it projects so well.
My rotation for the spring/summer in New Orleans where it's already hot sticky and humid too (most of these are decants so I have more variety):
MFK Petit Matin
Creed VIW (mostly for vacations though tbh)
Kilian Moonlight in Heaven (vacations too)
Creed SMW
Amouage Beach Hut Man
Amouage Reflection Man
ELDO You or Someone Like You
Memo Tamarindo
Chanel Sycomore
Perris Monte Carlo Santal du Pacifique Extrait
Dior Sauvage (I miss it sometimes lol)
Gucci Pour Homme II
YSL L'homme
Hermes TDH EDT
How long down L'homme last on you? I love it but I can't get much out of it.
I get roughly 6 hours on it, not the best but not too bad either
Usually a spray on each wrist and one on the neck will last me all day
Currently, I only have Dylan Blue ready for summer. I’m keen on going to a store and trying Aqva Amara, giving Terre d’Hermes EDT another try, and perhaps a few others. Any recommendations for me?
I love Dylan Blue, btw, also tried Sauvage and found it good. Tried Encre Noir Sport from a sample and loved it, same with Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP. Just so you get a feeling for what I like. Sorry for hijacking the thread.
You didn't hijack at all bud. Dylan blue is a good one. Did the Td'H turn you off the when sampling it before? You may like edp better. TF grey Vetiver is an amazing fresh scent that I may invest in more of.
I couldn’t really put my finger on it the first time but something turned me off. Would love to try it again though. Tried the Parfum and think it didn’t really agree with my skin since I love caching wiffs from other people but not smelling it on me. EDT seems like it’s more appropriare for hotter weather.
I haven't tried Encre Noire Sport, but I love the original Encre Noire in Summer. Though I generally only wear it if I'm outside all day, because it does tend to fill a room and it is not enjoyed by everyone.
Just a heads up, Bulgari Aqua Amara is being discontinued so check it out soon. A lot of stores around me don't carry it anymore.
Versace PH
Versace Man Eau Fraiche
PE 360 Red
Ultra Zest
Invictus Aqua
Mugler Cologne
Light Blue/Light Blue Intense
Grey Vetiver EDP
YSL Y
Dior Homme Sport 2017
Bvlgari Aqva
CK Eternity Summer 2015
Set Sail St Barts
I look forward to putting Guerlain Vetiver back into my rotation.
Man I was dying to try this and I think I got scammed on Amazon. It just smells like Pine Sol. I didn't have enough knowledge of perfumes at the time to know that it's wrong, and all the reviews were fairly good (at the time). The reviews have gone down a bunch but that's the last time I'll buy perfume on amazon (unless it's cheap stuff that's pointless to knock off).
I didn't smell "the dirty gardner" it just smelled flat. I really wanted to try it because I was intrigued. Might have to hit up Saks at some point to check out the real stuff.
Reviews are mixed and many are put-off by the tobacco accord that appears in the dry-down (in the recent formula), so I don't blame you. Have you smelled many vetiver dominant fragrances?
I bought my bottle on Amazon, too: seller was Amazon, batch code and Guerlain formula number check out.
Looks like my bottle was from the first batch of 2016 then. 6p01 I've got on the bottom of the bottle. I threw away the box as I didn't think it was going to be important -- next time I know, so thanks for that. I'm almost certain it was the green one but did it have the formula on the back? I would imagine I would have saved the box.
I did take a look at the printing on the bottle under my microscope and the precision is very good with foil over clear, so I think if it's fake they're very dedicated or skimming real labels. The bottle appears authentic and the cap is stamped on the top.
I did blind buy it, so I think that's probably part of it. I just put some on and came to the conclusion it's probably real but not what I expected it to be. The description sounded immensely appealing, but I'm finding out now that I like super nebulous and fairly modern scents.
As a dude I think I could wear a spray under a suit to a fancy dinner, but for most day to day it's a bit too powdery seeming for my taste. In the first hour if I smell my wrist it's like I'm doing a rail of shaved soap lol.
Hermès Rhubarb Escalarte
MM Beach Walk
Clean Aqua Neroli
Nest Passiflora
Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche
Mugler Womanity
I got to smell Rhubarb at sephora the other day and really liked it.
Tommy Bahama St Barts is a really nice salty lime scent that's perfect for humid weather (I'm in AL, so I've definitely put it through it's paces). Longevity isn't good but it's cheap enough that you can reapply liberally.
Encre Noire Sport is my favorite scent of all time and it's also a great performer for summer. It's not your typical fresh crowd pleaser though. Very earthy with a touch of wood and citrus. Smells like a $200+ fragrance for $30.
Agree on Encre Noir Sport. The vetiver is still a bit on the dirty/swampy side but it’s a much fresher spin on the original.
I feel like I may have seen the Tommy frag at a Marshall's for a great price recently.
Nautica Blue and Voyage, Just you by Paris Hilton, Bright Neroli by Ferrari, desire Blue by Dunhill, Versace Man Eau Fraiche, Cool Water, Aqva Amara, Azzaro Chrome, and maybe Eternity Aqua.
lol jejus i bathe in the 200 ml bottle.pfftt gne in under an hour.a guy on here said there is one the same but stronger.i cant remember was it something chrome?yes the citris in man eau fresh is reallynice.got it :0enclosed link mate. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Azzaro/Chrome-Sport-7938.html
Dior Homme Cologne for hot days and Mancera Cedrat Boise for hot evenings
Okay so the funny thing is that I bought Atelier Cologne’s Pomelo Paradis not so long ago and I wore it on a cold day and I couldn’t smell it not even after 20 minutes. I was kind of disappointed.
Then there was one particular day this week when it was above 20 Celsius degrees and it actually lasted!!! I was so surprised! So probably I’ll be wearing the citrus line from AC from Clementine California to Pomelo Paradis and Cedrat Enivrant!
I guess that's why some frags are recommended for winter. Where I'm at it rarely gets cold enough to not always have fresh scents on hand.
Very true! Like this situation has amazed me because I didn’t really believe in that.
Venetian bergamot for the hot nights
Reflection Man
Solei d Positano for the brutally hot days
Terre d’ Hermès
I want to check out beach hut man and mfk aqua universalis
Aqua universalis forte is beautiful and very versatile. I’m looking to get a partial bottle soon. What do you think of Venetian bergamot?
I like it alot. My wife and I both wear it. It has this creamyness to it that I attribute to the cedar that’s pretty unique in a bergamot heavy scent. It’s very versatile and I think a highly underrated scent by TF.
I found Beach Hut Man to be great off paper but wasn’t a huge fan of it on me. Like a very damp, sweet green scent. Could see some people really liking it though.
Guerlain Leau Boisee
Grey Vetiver
Guerlain Vetiver
Terre D’Hermes EDT
Aventus
Alexandria Zion
ADP Essenza
Sauvage
I just got it a week ago and it smells good but I have been told Alexandria fragrances get better with age. Is that true in your experience?
I haven't really been able to tell a difference honestly. I think some scents might take a couple weeks to 'settle' or steep especilly if they were just mixed before shipment. How is the ADP Essenza? I pulled the trigger on bottle of Amalfie but it might be a bit too feminine for me.
I bought into the hype and blind bought a 6 oz bottle. It is good but not great. Soapy with low projection and decent longevity. I am waiting until this summer to see if my opinion changes.
How different is the Guerlain vs TF? Haven't smelled the Guerlain Vetiver. Also, do you prefer sauvage edt or edp?
Tom Ford is fresher. They both smell similar to my nose, but the tobacco note in guerlain gives it a bit more body. I would say TF is summer/spring and guerlain all year minus hot summer days.
Actually have not smelled the EDP of Sauvage but I love the EDT but don’t wear it often.
I live on the Texas Gulf coast, so I definitely know about the hot season. I wear a lot of the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea line of fragrances. The cucumber, tropical, jasmine, and nectarine blossom flankers are my favorites. I like the 4711 Acqua Colonia line too, especially the orange-basil and lavender based ones. I like Daisy, 3 l'imperatrice, Be Delicious, Peace Love and Juicy Couture, and Coriandre too in hot weather. Those are all my daily "nothing special planned" hot weather favorites.
Same, I would love to get Acqua di parma Colonia, for the hot season. I've been meaning to for months, but I keep putting it off.
Currently my line up for summer is givenchy pour homme blue label, Perry Ellis 360 reserve, Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger, and Versace blue jean man, for the cooler days before the actual summer heat starts (god, summer sucks in Houston)
Jo Malone just released a perfume called Nettle and Wild Achillea. It smells like freshly mown grass, and I can already tell that I will be wearing it a lot this spring/summer.
My other favourite warm weather perfumes are Tocca Simone and Commodity Tea (original formula).
Can’t wait for cool greens and tropical florals
L’Artisan Parfumeur Caligna and Nuit de Tubereuae
Nest Passiflora
Lush Lust and Kerbside Violet
Hiram Green Slowdive and Dilettante
Margiela Beach Walk
Heeley Menthe Fraiche & Sel Marin. Both smell very refreshing.
Nasomatto Silver Musk. It’s soft and clean, doesn’t have any animalic smell at all.
Ormonde Jayne QI. This is such an amazing spring/summer fragrance, the balance is great, it’s gentle, but quite long lasting considering it’s a osmanthus/tea fragrance, and it’s not overpowering.
Last summer I mainly used L’Artisan Dzongkha & Timbuktu, the bittery scent in these two fragrances helps calm me down and I’ve always had a strange theory that some bitterness in summertime has a cooling effect so...(:з」∠)
Van Cleef & Arpels California Reverie, ELDO You or Someone Like You, Kai. Maybe finish up my bottle of Light Blue. Maybe purchase something citrus-y but not sure what — suggestions welcome!

In the heat I enjoy:
LDDM
Terre d'Hermes Parfum
Coco Mademoiselle
Philosykos
Apres l'Ondee
Sycomore
Although my great approach to the Florida heat is to never go outside.
Haha yea sometimes that is the best approach to fighting the heat/humidity. Td'H parfum is great.
Female: Hermes - Un Jardin sur Le Toit Male: Chanel - Pour Monsieur EDT
Gotta pick my wife up something soon. I may get my nose on those and test thanx!
Also try Voyage EDP (Hermes) the dry down is wonderful and soft yet has presence. I wear this when I need to feel confident. Am female. And Narcisse Blue also Hermes. I’ll wear anything regardless of the marketing and gender preference. It just has to work on my skin and invoke something for me.
I also wear Terre D’Hermes and spice bomb. Get a lot of compliments from gentlemen on how I smell daily.
And of course I have the full gamut if feminine scents.
Check out the Chanel les Exclusifs line. Boy layered with No. 5 L’eau is amazing.
Awesome thanx for the recommendation! And I've sprayed Td'H on her and thought it worked incredibly well.
Lots of people wearing TF grey Vetiver this year. It's really an amazing frag.
I've tried liking it but can't get into sadly. Terre d hermes intense vetiver is a nice alternative vetiver though.

lol a used bottle of CDNIM is worth about as much as shipping
LOL yea so true. About to give the stuff away! And that’s not to discredit the scent—it’s my most complimented to date... just don’t reach for it often enough.
Mugler Cologne Take Me Out
Oh, my gosh. It’s beautiful. Minty orange blossom with a sweet SPF nuance. Orange blossom is my favorite flower, so I’m very much looking forward to the warm days!
In case anyone’s curious, it’s much sweeter compared to Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom; Jo Malone’s take is much more vegetal and green.
Somebody else brought that up today. How is it for you?
Very good. It lasts maybe an hour, but it's really refreshing when you're hot. That's what it was originally used for--cooling off. It even comes in a splash bottle like t's a nice refreshing unisex scent. It's dirt cheap. I keep some in a small spray bottle that I spray on after I get home after a particularly hot and icky commute.
I looked it up and it looks very nicely priced.
I second Florida Water. Used to live in North FL for many many years and i can remember when it was August and 100 degrees out, filling up my bathroom sink with ice cold water, pouring some Florida Water in the sink water and then dunking my face and hair into the sink. Nothing is more refreshing and cooling in that moment.
It's about 8 hours for me. It lasts all day at work for example.
Definitely Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Forte! Creed VIW, and Tom Ford Mandarino di Amalfi! I may pick up a bottle of D&G Light Blue, but I heard not such good performance from that one.
how's the performance of Neroli on your skin? Im interested in one but i heard alot of thing about poor longevity
It's not too bad. I'd say easy 5-6 hours. Using a non scented body lotion helps to prolong it. The original has poor longevity, but the Forte version got it right. It will be lovely to see how this does in the heat!
Got a bunch of old bottles I need to finish.
Gucci Pour Homme 2
Chanel Allure Homme Extreme
Dior Sauvage
YSL L'Homme
Summer collection: Popeye, Sauvage, Millisime Imperiale, Silver Mountain Water, Neroli Portofino, Vetiver Babylon, Grey Vetiver EDT, Prada L’homme, YSL L’homme, Dylan Blue, Italian Bergamot, CK One, Molecule 01, Bleu de Chanel EDT, Pineapple Vintage X Batch, Note de Yuzu, Cedrat Environt and Mugler cologne
I'm really liking Thymes' Neroli Sol. Smells like coconut milk (sunscreen) and neroli with a little beach breeze thrown in. I live no where near the ocean but it serves the memory well.
Have you checked out their new washed linen frag? it's pretty nice.
I love almost all of Thymes' stuff. I've been a fan for years and years. Their Kimono Rose and Lavender scents are just wonderful. Classy scents and a decent price...love them lots. I've worn Eucalyptus since 1998!
TF Grey Vetiver and Guerlain Vetiver would be my primary driver. Terre d'Hermes for those warm evenings.
My job will have a travelling stint in the summer. Will be carrying these 3 mostly.
I recently got a sample of TF grey vet and I like it enough to buy a large decant. Incredibly fresh.
And it lasts long.
Try Guerlain Vetiver. Not as fresh as you call the grey Vetiver but much more earthy. If you ask my which one I like more, I can't say. I love them both.
Jo Malone - Orange blossom It’s a pity it doesn’t last a long time on me, but I got the 30 ml one, so I’ll just have it with me to refresh if needed.
Mugler Cologne
Guerlain L'eau Boisse
Mancera Cedrat Boisse
Carven L'eau Intense
Oh dear now you just gave me an excuse to go buy another bottle of Amazing Grace! Maybe I’ll try to ballet shoes version.
