  1. The key distinction is this. In most countries where Sputnik operates, you’ll find very few politicians, academics, and journalists who trust it with their news. But you’ll find scores of them in Turkey.

    Shocked and saddened to hear the passing of Yannis Behrakis, a legend of a photojournalist & one of ⁦⁦Reuters⁩’ finest. I was privileged to have worked alongside him in 2014, covering the crisis in Syrian town of Kobani. He has hundreds of iconic shots like this. RIP. 💔

    He made icons, not just pictures. Gutted to wake up to news of the passing of Reuters photojournalist, Pulitzer-prize winner, fellow Greek Yiannis Behrakis. He was memorably kind to me on the teargassed streets of Athens in Nov. 2012, and every time since.
