The only 2 Syrians who allowed to set to table in Hmeimim Air Base were & Suhail al-Hassan. For the military customs is very unusual Assad (Marshal) to be equal with al-Hassan (Colonel).

DOD claimed 503 troops in Syria for years, until in Nov. 2017 DOD accidentally admitted there were actually 1,720 (see here: ), which was soon upped to "about 2,000." So "400" may be more like 1,600, plus unacknowledged DOD/CIA personnel, and contractors.

Here the Imam in the Wilaya (province) of Taaref, does exactly that and gets challenged for it brilliantly by a young man: "You misuse religion to misguide the people" & تَاۡمُرُوۡنَ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ وَتَنۡهَوۡنَ عَنِ الۡمُنۡكَرِ

Anna Campbell was a British citizen killed last year in Syria while fighting with the YPJ who was hailed for her heroism & “inspiration”. Ex soldier Joe Robinson, imprisoned in Turkey in 2015 for fighting alongside Kurdish armed groups, was able to return to Britain last year.

A "state" that, in order to survive, must (and has the ressources to) destroy whole cities and drive half of the population from their homes is worse than no state.

A pattern going on here...MbS turns up in a place, announces billions of dollars of investment, then goes on to the next place and does the same. Most of this investment never seems to actually get finalised...loads of big numbers floating about in many countries. Not much sticks
