What is your role on this film?

I am responsible for the department that manufactures any prop that needs to be made for the film. One of the great joys what we are doing with – it's always a process of concept, design, and manufacturer. So, there is always a lot of discovery to be made with any new film, and this is as usual, very much the case with this new film.

We have late '20s Paris, sort of the end of the sort of art deco period, so there is a very strong style to that world. We had to represent Paris as it was, and then also we have to represent the wizards of Paris, which is great fun.

Are you a night person or a morning person?

In my youth, I was a night person. Now, I am very much a morning person only because we start early. our day starts at 7:00. So yes, I am normally up by 5:00 - 5:30 and then in bed by 9:00.

Do you find that you get your best ideas in the morning?

No, there is no correlation to the best ... probably ... this is interesting actually. It happens in two senses when either when I am driving to work, or when I am in the bath, so that's obviously different ends of the day normally. Well, sometimes to be honest, good ideas come from debate. Yes, that's probably where most of the ideas come from.
