I’m going to continue to urge all Jewish people to be VERY cautious of antifa groups. Nazis are our enemy, beyond a question, but many antifa groups subscribe to a rather brutal Stalinist philosophy that absolutely includes contempt for and even support for violence towards Jews. Keep a wary eye on them, especially since there’s no unifying philosophy and no parent group to set policy.

It’s a fake page, I looked into it more. It’s being run by a nazi.
Well, I never expected “Oh thank god, it’s just a Nazi” to be something I said, and yet here we are.
It’s kinda more like “a troll trying to discredit antifascist groups to make them less effective in combating facism and having people on Tumblr spread it as truth is a genuinely bad thing that goes along with what a literal nazi is trying to achieve by discrediting their enemies”
I’d like to see evidence, please. I’m not saying you’re wrong, just that I was particularly perturbed by this and need something concrete to turn down the heat on my rage-o-meter.
The page was recently taken down and it popped back up but for some reason this time it’s being run by someone extremely anti-semetic and who hasn’t posted anything that would signal they aren’t a troll. It was also verified by a twitter called “antifa checker” which has verified very obvious trolls and hasn’t verified groups I know to be legitimate
I’ve found no evidence of this. I checked “antifa checker” and found nothing. I also searched “Porstmouth Nazi Watch” in twitter as well as “Portsmouth NaziWatch” and they didn’t pop up. Searched posts from an to @NaziWatchPompey and I can see a shift in personality, but no verification it’s someone else or of any concerted antifa effort to disown them.

perhaps a bit late, but as a general rule: do not trust anything on facebook. no serious antifascist organization is happening on a platform with real name policies; that’s simply asking to get doxed. as a consequence, we don’t use facebook at all, and we don’t check anything on facebook. all of our work is in tracking twitter trolls.

for what it’s worth, yes, we are willing to confirm this facebook page is fake. the mere fact that they’re using nazi memes on an “nazi watch” page should be enough evidence not to trust them.
re @wombatking and the claim that “ many antifa groups subscribe to a rather brutal Stalinist philosophy that absolutely includes contempt for and even support for violence towards Jews” – we completely denounce this statement. in fact, the majority of antifa are more likely to be anarchists than “brutal stalinists”, and no legitimate antifascist supports violence towards jews. if a self-proclaimed antifascist account is targeting jews, then they are not legitimate.
re: any “receipts”, we can only offer the following statistic: we follow 78 accounts on twitter that are trustworthy, and we block 426 untrustworthy accounts. this means that right now, fake accounts outnumber legitimate accounts 5.46:1, or in other words, that only 15.48% of accounts claiming to be “antifa” on twitter are legitimate. hopefully this should demonstrate the sheer magnitude of disinformation against antifa and antifascists in general.
