この記事を読んで、帰国者のフォローのためにわざわざワーシップに英語を取り入れるだとか、西洋的な雰囲気にするだとか、そんなの教会としての本質をはずしているのではないか、と思われる方もいるかもしれない。教会は神を礼拝し、神の御言葉を聴くところであり、雰囲気を楽しむ場所ではない、と。しかし、せっかく海外滞在中にキリスト教に触れ、キリスト教に心を開くようになった若者たち、実際イエス様を受け入れる決心をした若者たちが、日本に戻って来てから何らかの理由で教会に根付けないでいるという現実を直視するとき、やはり彼らの魂の救いと霊の成長のために、より柔軟でクリエイティブな対応が求められるのではないかと思う。パウロもこのように言っている通り。

Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. 」（第一コリント９：１９−２３）

山中師も指摘しておられるように、個々の教会が「すべての人に、すべてのものとなる」ことは難しいかもしれないが、帰国者ミニストリーに導きや重荷を感じる教会には，是非積極的に取り組んでいただきたいし、そうでない教会も、そのような働きを支援し見守っていてくだされば、と私も心から思う。
