They Syrian Kurdish leader and Gabbard are an odd pair, since Tulsi called for US troops to get out of Syria "ASAP" last month. Ahmad is in Washington for a 13-day tour asking the Trump administration to slowdown the Syria withdrawal.https://twitter.com/TulsiGabbard/status/1076163140793126912 …

Ahmad also warned last week that the US-backed fighters would consider integrating with Assad after the American troops leave Syria.https://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/originals/2019/01/syria-kurds-join-forces-assad-us-withdraw.html …

IMHO Kurdish-Damascus reunification doesnt really clash with Gabbard's general approach. The Kurds have avoided any major confrontation with Syrian gov during the war. They dont want US gone but were already discussing reunification months before Trump ordered pullout.

Reunification isn't the major sticking point. Gabbard has pushed for a quick US troop pullout. Kurds are in Washington lobbying for a slow US withdrawal.
