    Today was my last day at the State Department. I wish my former civilian and military colleagues well as they work under extremely difficult circumstances to protect the interests of our great country. It was a privilege to serve alongside them.

    LTG Rupert Jones (UK) is a hero, traveling regularly to the very front lines during the battles of Mosul and Raqqa. This has been a true coalition effort of which our country can be proud — and must not forfeit.

    Few people have done more to support the defeat of Da’esh than - until recently the US President’s envoy. I travelled with him regularly to Syria & respect him greatly. His article on the impact of the US withdrawal from Syria is well worth a read.
