    It took a couple years to get rolling, but it seems core ISIS logistical & advisory support to West Africa during 2016-2017 was decisive. The new "Boko Haram" is a much smarter & qualitatively more sophisticated insurgency

  8. The fact that America turned some of the Soviet Union's tactics back against it in the course of resisting its global assault, and the fact Israel and others do now in resisting the Iranian revolution, doesn't and won't ever make the two sides equivalent, morally or otherwise.

  9. In the old days the line was that since America had spy services and engaged in dirty tricks in foreign countries and even assassinations, some of the same tactics as the Soviet Union, therefore the two sides were the same. Was wrong then, wrong now about Iran.
