This week, the White House will hold a number of events to focus on innovation, and President Obama’s plan for winning the future by out-innovating, out-educating, and out-building the rest of the world.  On Monday, the White House will launch “Startup America,” a national campaign to help America achieve these goals by promoting high-growth entrepreneurship across the country.  

At an event at 11:00 am ET in the South Court Auditorium at the White House, Gary Locke, Secretary of the Department of Commerce; Dr. Steven Chu, Secretary of the Department of Energy; Karen Mills, Administrator of the Small Business Administration; Gene Sperling, Director of the National Economic Council; Austan Goolsbee, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, and a number of America’s top entrepreneurs will hold an event to launch the program.  The event is open press.   Final gather is at 10:40 am ET in the Brady Press Briefing Room.  Secretary Locke and Administrator Mills will visit the stakeout location immediately following the event.

Later, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with President Hu in the Oval Office. The Vice President will also attend. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting. The President will then hold an expanded bilateral meeting with President Hu and the Official U.S. and Official Chinese Delegations in the Cabinet Room. This meeting is closed press.

Tomorrow afternoon, President Obama will host a meeting with President Hu and business leaders at the White House to discuss the economic relationship with China.  President Obama will highlight the importance of  increasing exports to China, a key part of our National Export Initiative, and of increasing investment in the United States -- both critical to supporting millions of American jobs.  The President will be joined by business leaders from the United States and from Chinese firms that have made investments in the United States.  There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting.
