    Again: we cannot stop another round of damage to us from the EU now, all we can do is make sure it's the last time. Get out with a clean break on 29 March, rather than suffering a protracted period of harm and humiliation in whatever limbo the EU traps us.

    The choice for them is the deal, and a world of pain and helplessness for 2-4 years then swallowing whatever they're given; a world of pain now through no deal; a way out of this through an extension & ref; or more waiting and an emergency revocation in March to avert no deal. 8/

    Perish the thought that the EU should act ruthlessly in pursuit of its own zealot doctrine and treat Britain badly. I wonder what *that* would be like.

    She, and this Cabinet, will never be trusted again by EU27 leaders. Future Relationship negotiations will be conducted in a trust- and goodwill-free zone. Requests for concessions will be dismissed. Assistance will not be forthcoming. UK perceptions ignored. 5/

    Wrote about this back in August: the US was revising its position on even then to the point where the terms were a victory in everything but name. Which is one way to get them to sign a "deal".
