You don't think the alignment between the Women's March leaders and Farrakhan is problematic?

Sure is, but so are PRO-ISRAEL groups on the LEFT, of all places. One of the Black women would not denounce Farrakhan. So what! And PS, there is no antisemitism on the Left. I've been studying this issue forever and leftwing antisemites are rare birds.

"Today, the angry chorus of accusations are coming from white Jews who are accustomed to the privileging of their victimhood and the power of their class. The voices of Jews of color have been largely sidelined from this conversation." I also grew up as a white US Jewish woman.

My immigrant grandparents and great grandparents escaped the Russian empire with nothing more than their lives. My grandmother was born in a tenement in the North End of Boston. Her father and grandfather were junkmen. My other grandfather lost his family in the Holocaust.

I saw an article in Rewired last week that was posted on the day of the Women's March that also described how white Jews were "privileged" I thought, tell that to Leo Frank who was lynched in Georgina in 1915 for being Jewish and accused (falsely) of murdering a gentile girl.

As for for perpetuating white privilege and white supremacy, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner gave their lives for Freedom Summer in 1964. The many Jews who fought with African Americans for civil rights should be remembered.

I grew up in an era when Bella Azbug, Betty Friedan and others encouraged women to stand together, regardless of their background, religion, and race. I can't tell you how much it offends me that articles like the Rewired piece and this one by Alice Rothchild ignore history
