UAE & KSA got involved in Syrian war to counter Qatar more than Iran, i.e. to foil an ideological (revolutionary) threat more than a geopolitical one. Geopolitical aspect was overhyped.https://twitter.com/AFP_Beirut/status/1078238070292598785 …

Once Russia stepped in and the revolutionary threat was gone, KSA & UAE were set to reconcile with Asad

Intriguing argument. How would you explain the Saudi decision to pool their resources with Qatar in northern Syria in 2015?

I was referring to decision to support rebels in 2012, not later developments. Re. 2015 Idlib campaign, I'm not sure there was any solid evidence of significant Saudi role in it. Mostly rumors

UAE 'support' of Syrian uprising against Asad, if it ever existed, was never genuine, more talk than action. Asadist mafia money kept flowing into UAE banks and businesses, and Asad family members as well as many loyalist Syrians were always welcome to come and go freely.

What on earth are you talking about? There is no pipe, there never were any pipe. If they wanted they could've build a pipe through iraq or israel then underwater to Europe. No need for this convoluted plan to start a war in Syria. You need medication.
