    Definitely agree about keeping strategy the main thing. Dissent might be on the exit date. It might be academic since it is now political un-sellable, but some necessary security tasks are "open-ended". Imperial policing, as we would once have said, or (gasp!) forever war.

    This month’s Ziya heresy: All military interventions have to be planned and executed only by the clear end goal set with a clear exit strategy with a clear eye on short, medium and long term implications; and tactical and operational judgements should not lead strategy

    As a Syrian, of course I am enraged by any attack on my homeland (by my dictator or anyone else). But given that the number 1 cause of death, destruction & backwardedness in my country is my dictator & his allies, any attack on their death/tyrannical infrastructure is welcomed.

    Yes unfortunately this propaganda has made the rounds. Funny how we who lived in Libya under Gaddafi had to pay electricity otherwise it would be cut off without warning, & how men couldn’t get married before 40 as couldn’t afford to, & how I as a dr didn’t get paid a whole year

    Understandable there were objections to this tweet. Fact is King was close two KGB agents, thus invited the attention that came his way. Also, the FBI destroyed the KKK and protected King on his tour of the South, over the objections of local authorities. Life is complicated.

    Today, on the anniversary of his assassination, the FBI honors the life, work, & commitment of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to justice.
