Is it tho? Re-populated by whom? Cuz those who fled to Turkey, Assad held areas or other neighbouring countries havent returned yet. And Arab tribes who didnt accept YPG control were expelled after they took over the place using the excuse of them being Daeshi sympathizers

I m hearing these stories from arab refugees in Turkey. And I recall YPG arrested a number of Arab fighters who helped them to liberate the town from ISIS in Aug or Sept 2016, a commander fled to Turkey.

Same could be said about Jarabalus. Arab majority areas under PYD control are restive and uptick in ISIS attacks and attacks by unknown gunmen in areas like Raqqah, Hasakah, Shaddadi, and now even Manbij show displeasure at PYD forced conscription and political repression/arrest

If security is your real concern— the choice is clear; Turkish governance is the safest possible outcome. Turkey is a real state apparatus with full power to enforce laws, whereas YPG is a random Marxist peasant militia terror org that has no experience in ruling territory.

There are no ISIS attacks in Turkish controlled Al Bab or Jarablus or Afrin. Meanwhile YPG can’t guarantee security in Manbij.
