At a time of political uncertainty, Maajid Nawaz takes a moment to remind Brexiters that revoking Article 50 would not be undemocratic. @MaajidNawaz | #Brexithttps://l-bc.co/2FtjvgH

Hitler was an actual foreign power, mate.
-
You would vote to give away actual sovereignty to prevent imagined loss of sovereignty

Hitler was not a great admirer of democracy.
-
He was however a great admirer of referenda - the Nazis ran several in the 1930s as a way of avoiding having to go through an actual parliamentary democracy. Funny that.

Sir, this is a Greggs.
-
What is a Gregg's?
-
Right, so it is a shop, hut what exactly did you mean when you called him a Gregg's?
-
OK - so I'm not calling him a Greggs, I'm saying this is the sort of thing he would say to someone behind the counter at Greggs. You've just got to imagine him ranting in a fast food shop, and the person serving him saying "Sir, this is a Greggs".
-
What a wholesome exchange this turned out to be.
-
It WAS a lovely example of a civilized exchange between two tweeters. In the U.S., people are chronically high strung these days. It's highly likely that words like "godless liberal cocksucker" would have been used to describe
@seanbamforth, followed by accusations of treason. -
I just really appreciated that he took the time to explain it to me. I follow a lot of Brexit news on Twitter, but as I am not from the UK, there're a lot of colloqualisms I don't understand right off the bat.
