The image search doesn't work. I've tried SHA1 and MD5 digests, neither of them pick up images which have been posted (yes, .pngs)

I had the same problem with rebeccablacktech and the webmaster posted http://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/imagesearch-mu.html
Perhaps this will help somehow.

Oh and on chrome I cannot drag and drop files into the bar.

On firefox, this function does work, but I can't tell what kind of digest it is (it's not in hex though)

The drag and drop hash generation is entirely javascript, so it's the browser messing up if it fails. I haven't had issues with it

How2 base64:

I made /usr/bin/md5sum64 with content:
#!/bin/bash
md5sum "$1" | cut -d' ' -f1 | xxd -r -p | base64

Or just upload it to 4chin again, inspect element, data-md5="" on the thumbnail.

Also note that about a year ago 4chin started stripping exif data and comments and other metadata from all images, so the hashes might have changed (or may change when you upload an image). EG: 7a/UhHGcCX0ZF2WVne203Q== vs N4bTgu+CVl645idcFP3BoA== .. if your image has metadata, upload it to 4chin and get the data-md5.

Actually 4chan still keeps comment fields in .pngs (all tEXt, zTXt, and iTXt chunks, whether they're tagged as comment or otherwise), I've verified that, not sure about jpgs or other exif.
