The theory is that an asteroid hit Earth and created a huge dust could in the atmosphere. The sunlight couldn't get through all the dust and debris therefore plants couldn't grow. The dinosaurs who are plants had no food and died and the dinosaurs who ate other dinosaurs didn't have anything to eat so they all died
