PGP sign your posts. It takes a few seconds and instills enormous indisputable trust. If you've got a check-able key, post it up and let the populace fact-check it to death. Open and shut case!
We live in a world of refuting and salivating nerds waiting for something to dispute. Don't give them any avenue to take. PGP sign everything with your sacred key.

This is the only thread we were in on 4chan. However, someone posted a cheeky photo of an 'alien' claiming to buy us, and it's been circling that we posted it. However, simple analysis of the IDs will show that it wasn't us.

The thread was ours. However, someone (not us) also came onto the thread posing as us with a different ID, and they were the ones to post the photo. This can easily be verified as we're always OP.
The only thing that you should trust as verifiable is a 512+ bit key signed PGP message.
Again, a brief study into the technical functions of the Steemit code will reveal why posts don't need to be signed. Our password is treated in the same manner as our PGP private key, and they're the same thing, of course.
I know this platform intimately. I'm checking into you and your original message VS other sources. Once I come to a conclusion I will be able to say whether or not I trust you are you.
