I'm a westerner. I'm not romantic. The SDF-YPG helped defeat ISIS and save people from genocide. When the choice is between genocide and those fighting it, it's better to fight against it. Where were other countries to stop the genocide in Sinjar?

People I’ve spoken to in Manbij last two days are very afraid of Turkish-backed rebels, shocked that Americans are leaving. Many don’t want the regime to enter the city either. All say SDF has brought stability and security

A young woman in Manbij broke down crying while talking about the planned Turkish attack. She lived under Daesh and under Free Syrian Army. “We just became comfortable” under SDF. “We know these Turkish-backed rebels. They loot everything. Any girl they like, they take.”

I hope President Trump will not do in Syria what Obama did in Iraq -- which led to the rise of ISIS. We also must not abandon our Kurdish allies who have fought so hard by our side in Syria.

Share many of Netanyahu’s concerns about current situation in Turkey. Bad idea to turn northeastern Syria over to Turkey. Creates multiple problems for the US, Israel, and Kurdish allies.
