    Countries in the Middle East have wanted to put the conflict behind them for some time; not surprised that the UAE is re-opening its embassy. I suspect that Assad will be fully normalized back into the region before Qatar.

    SDF officials have met with Russian representatives in Moscow. A source close to the SDF leadership told VOA the expectations are that Russia-backed Syria forces will move into some of the areas the SDF vacates once American forces leave.
