To those thinking PKK is pro-Kurdistan : remember that they refuse rojava peshmerga deployment. They are more happy with baathist Assad.

An opinion piece published on the arguing for : 1) the full rehabilitation of Assad by the US 2) US military assistance to help the tyrant control Syria Of all people, I did not expect one from . At least not this early.

The irony of saying “Iraq” will be a bulwark against Iran.. nvm the fact that Iranian funded militia leaders who killed US troops hold at least half the seats in the Iraqi Council of Representatives (Parliament) or that the PMF (Hashd) answer to Soleimani

UAE, so-called bulwark against Iran, is re-opening its Embassy in Damascus to establish ties with murderous Assad regime, an Iranian puppet.

He can justify the execution of prisoners, being fully conscious that as a westerner white man, this will not concern him. With the dominant racist discourse on MENA he can also freely express his rascism with little fear for his reputation.

Instead he was released after 2 weeks. It bring us to the key issue at play here. For westerners militants like Jake, the MENA is a place where they can let go their vilest pulsions without facing consequences or danger. Unlike the people for who the MENA is their home.

And obviously, would have been unhappy had Turkey followed his opinion on PoW executions when he was himself captured by Turkey in 2015 as he was covering the conflict along the PKK

Obviously his opinion on PoW executions would be very different if rebels and Turkey started to systematically execute their YPG prisoners too. As he recommended To say nothing about his westerners friends who joined the YPG as foreign fighters.

is one of his kind though. He goes as far as to advocate the systematic execution of prisoners. Which is a war crime. Be it against IS captured prisoners or anybody else.

The story of your average Westerner PKK/PYD fanboy posing as a reporter in 4 pictures. In this case who animates They claim to care about civilians but they only do so with non-Arabs. When you point out their deep compromise they insult & block

40 pickups and a few tanks of the Assad regime entered the Arimah region to the west of Manbij with the agreement reached with the PKK. The PKK and the Assad regime agreed to defend the west of Manbij against an attack from the FSA and TuAr.

"Al-Qaeda affiliated group Jason-al-Sharqiya". No such group exists and it literally means "Jason of the East" ! I swear half of the English speaking "analysts" of MENA are too lazy and/or too dumb to learn the names of MENA actors and just throw "Al-Qaeda affiliated" everywhere

I am even more confuse when I read that the 16 000 FSA fighters supposed to take part in an offensive against the PYD are pathetic "gendarme level fighters. 25 000 fighters capable to defeat 75 000 look like strongests & most capable. Not vice versa

Likewise I do not get how SDF/PYD can be at the same time 1) Most capable, effective and successful US partner in history composed of +75 000 fighters (most of them Arabs according to ) 2) Kurds who will be totally defeated in weeks by a force of 20 000 / 25 000 TSK-FSA

I am not sure to understand how according to some officials and commentators, SDF/PYD went from : 1) The +75 000 strong "most effective and successful US partner in MENA since decades 2) collapse within 6 months and leave IS + others actors in control of their entire territory

This. Have found the amount of hand wringing odd given that he was slated to go soon anyway. And given the fact that the US/YPG relationship was always likely to end badly, this was as good an out as he could reasonably expect

Western propagandists masquerading as neutral observers have for years told us the SDF was a 'multi-ethnic and non sectarian force'. Now they tell us it represents 'Kurds, who will be wiped out by Turkey' after Trump's decision to leave Syria.
