SDF surrendering to Assad to prevent a possible Turkey invasion is like accepting landlord’s inappropriate advances to avoid rape by the neighbour. It didn’t have to be this way. Assad didn’t have to win it all. But SDF & Turkey’s obsession with other gave us this day.

The lazy, stupid & bizzarre headlines of ‘Kurds invite Assad forces to Manbij’ all over media again! Look guys! We are a 40 million nation & we didn’t invite no one! Name whoever invited them but certainly it is not ‘the Kurds’!

The summary of what is going on in Manbij (and possibly all other SDF areas): Turkey and SDF prefer Assad to each other Assad wins the Turkey-SDF conflict, too.

The Arab establishment's re-embracing of Bashar al-Assad is the perfect end for 2018. It does not mean much for Assad. He has won the war thanks to Russia, Iran & militias. But it tells a lot about the age we live in. No change in 3000 years. The strong wins, the weak suffers.

Ersoy wrote poems & articles arguing against multiple nationalism or what he called Türklük, Kürtlük and Araplık. His main call was to keep ethnic diversity within Islamic unity! wouldn’t have liked the modern ‘ne mutlu Türküm diyene’-based Turkey!

82 years ago today, the great Ottoman poet passed away. He is known as the ‘independence poet’ & lyrics of Turkish national anthem are his Many don’t (want to?) remember that Ersoy was a fierce voice against Turkish nationalism.

Here are both late President Talabani & President Tayyip Erdogan asking people who doubt the existence of Kurdistan to go back & review Ottoman records + records of first parliament (beginning of Ataturk's era)!: Talabani Erdogan

Actually, Ottoman maps have been the best pieces of evidence to prove Kurdishness of disputed areas. In 2006, Jalal Talabani used original Ottoman maps inside Iraqi Governance Council to prove Kirkuk's being part of Wilayah Kurdistan. Video here:

The Ottomans could rule three continents for hundreds of years because they were not narrow minded. They were not afraid of ethnic differences. They were not nervous to hear or name Kurdistan. There will be no New Turkey as long as its Kurdophobia is not overcome.

The Old Turkey of Ataturk-Inonu was based on surprising Kurds & conservatives. Erdogan had the audacity to admit both. He should go above narrow electoral calculations. Alliance of a bigot like Bahceli is not worth it. Appeasing Turkish nationalists will not lead Turkey anywhere.
