The blockade/boycott of split the anti- coalition at a bad time. Many accusations against Doha on terrorist hosting and propagating extremism were true. Supporting Iran's assets was less well-founded, and now looks entirely cynical as the UAE embraces Asad/Iran.

Gulf/Arab states, unable to do much kinetically, are making peace politically with the Asad/Iran system. The SDF/PKK was always entangled with the Asadists. Leaving Turkey, able to do actual heavy lifting and incentivised as at no time since 2016 against Asad, Iran, and Russia.

Even with the U.S. in the country, it never managed to eliminate / outposts from the "Syrian Kurdish" (/)-held zones. Key infrastructure like the airport was held by Asad/Iran, and PKK carried on a thriving trade with the regime coalition.

  17. The only way this view makes any sense is if "the " are an undifferentiated mass. The moment you introduce any of the history or politics to this, the differences between the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq and the SDF/PKK in Syria make themselves manifest.
