[Routine Help] Men’s Skincare Beginner

My boyfriend just moved from the United Kingdom to Nevada. The climate change has already impacted his skin after four days. He said his skin feels drier than ever.

He’s asked for my help but I’m scared I’ll mess up his skin somehow lol. He has the quintessential perfect man skin. He has doesn’t have acne (occasional pimple a few times a year), redness and his skin texture is smooth. He does have some blackheads but his pores aren’t really visible unless you’re close to his face. His skin is pretty normal. He hasn’t had issues with dryness or oiliness before. (I hate him)

From what I’ve learned from here, I’ve suggested CeraVe hydrating cleanser and cream in the tub. Are these the right products to start him off with? Is there anything else I’m missing?

CeraVe's hydrating cleanser and cream in the tub are better for drier skin types (as the hydrating cleanser has some moisturizing agents and the cream in the tub is a thick cream). If your boyfriend has normal skin, he might like the foaming cleanser and moisturizing lotions that CeraVe offers (including the AM / PM moisturizing lotions), as they are a bit lighter than the CeraVe cream in the tub that might be too thick for some people.

Lastly, you should definitely make sure he uses sunscreen religiously during the day, rain or shine, both from a beauty and self-care aspect. The CeraVe AM moisturizing lotion has some SPF in it (SPF 30, I believe), which should be good enough provided he's not outdoors all day.

I can’t believe I forgot sunscreen. I’ll definitely recommend those products instead. Thank you so much!

I always run any product I want to buy through http://cosdna.com. It will tell you what irritants for skin and ance are in the products. They also lists the safety ratings on each ingredient. You will be surprised what "safe" products have irritants in them. I hope this helps!
