    It ain't true to say there was no Syria policy. There was. I wrote about it, pointing out its many flaws and long-shots. But this was formulated by people who at least understand the ME and had begun implementing the policy. In 48 hours, Trump said, "Nah, fuck it. I know better."

    Nothing like being in the Middle East now to see and feel the reaction to the president’s decision to withdraw from Syria. Many of those who called me crestfallen after the Obama decision not to act on the red-line are again downcast. So much they say for US commitments.

    2-won’t enter these provinces and only regular Syrian Army and special forces will advance from the south. Turks are determined to enter for 50km connecting Albab in the west to Alhall in the east, M4 will be the borderline between the Turks and the regime

    1- from reliable resources, tens of IDPs started to move from Tal Abyad and Eyn Essa to Alraqqa city. Some INGOs have already halted their operations.The regime is sending assurances through tribal leaders and oil dealers to the civilians in DZ & Alraqqa that Turkey

    A contact who works on projects in N/E and who recently met with officials tells me the Turks were bragging that knew about 's decision on U.S. forces before the Pentagon and State Department did. That's...disturbing.

    I would watch flight tracker from Damascus to Qamishli airports in the next days. Regime will do what they did in Afrin & send whatever materials they can to bolster YPG and other regime leaning forces in Qamishli and elsewhere to make sure Turkey will take sustained losses
